It is blazing hot as I am in West Africa, surrounded green, luscious bushes, but hey, I am channeling this year’s fall colors! Nudes, browns, orange, mustards, black, white and grey all predominant in this year’s style color trends.
Below I am wearing a top from The Designers Consociate (DC) from Lagos. I picked this up from my Lagos Fashion and design trip. DC aims to create sustainable solutions for Africa’s fashion production’s biggest issues, starting in Nigeria. This year, DC teamed up with 4 designers from all over the African continent to create a shirt each for the yearly shirt project. The cotton for these shirts we grown in Nigeria, dyed and shirts were sewn in Nigeria. The shirt I am wearing was designed by Christie Brown from Ghana. Through these unique collaborations between creatives, artisans and designers, DC hopes to bridge their long existing gaps pushing production, job creative and sustainable growth of the industry.
