I always get excited with designers who naturally bring new life and character to prints. With Chulaap, the passion is in his blood! This Cape Town designer expresses his talent through the geometry and colors and prints. He uses them in the simplest ways that still leave me so intrigued! It is a beautiful mish mash. Most garment pieces are , i.e shirts, trousers, jackets, are usually made in one print, and then he fearlessly print blocks! The esthetic is quite clean and yet so print-astically busy.
I just had to share some images of the head designer Chu Suwannapha and his personal style from his instgram page (@chusuwannapha).
I had the pleasure of wearing some of his pieces during my trip to Cape Town and styled a pair of trousers from his latest collection two different ways.
Here I styled the Chulaap print trousers with their pink mens graphic jumper, all from their new collection.
I fell in love with this yellow turtle neck from RICH MNISI, the moment I laid eyes on it. I thought if you are going to fully cover the top half of your body, no better way to do that than in a bright color. Or was it the huge R that attracted me??? R for RIDA??
For more layers to keep warm, I added. the coolest poncho from THABO MAKHETHA. A yellow OKAPI purse for a dash of femininity.
All these fashion pieces can be found at MERCHANTS ON LONG!!
